This term, we will be holding our parental consultations via Zoom; telephone conversations are also available. The purpose of these meetings will be to discuss the recent assessments undertaken in school and how you can support your child’s learning. There will also be a chance to discuss how your child is settling back into school. We have decided to do these meetings, by year group, over the course of a week. The dates and details are below. If you would like to set up a meeting, please contact your child’s teacher via Class Dojo. They will then arrange a convenient time with you during that week. Meetings/calls will take place after school.
Dates are as follows
WC Monday 5th October – Year 2 and Year 6
WC Monday 12th October – Year 1 and Year 5
WC Monday 19th October – Year 3 and Year 4
Just some information relating to this week.
After School Club:
Mr Sutton is running a club every Monday from 3.20 until 4.20. If you would like your child to take part, please contact the office.
We will be collecting donations for the Glos Foodbank. If you have any spare cupboard items, please can parents pop them into the box outside the office. Rev Steve will collect them and pass them on.
As both classes are having Forest School sessions this week, there will be no PE on Thursday. Children will need to wear school uniform on Thursday.
We are happy for the children to wear trainers to school on PE days; on all other days we ask that they wear their school shoes.
In line with our safety measures regarding bringing additional items into school, I would like to make a change to Forest School arrangements from tomorrow. Please can your child/children come to school wearing their Forest School clothing including footwear. No bags are to be brought to school. If necessary, footwear can be removed and left it in the cloakroom. The forecast for tomorrow is to remain dry so waterproofs will not be required.
|25/09/20||There will be a collection for the food bank starting today, please dontate and tins/dried food or long life items Collection box is in reception.|
|23/09/20||All children in Class 2 need to complete permissions slips prior to going to Forest School on 02/10/2020|
Forest School Fridays!
Next Friday 2nd and again on Friday 16th October, we have full day Forest School for Class 2 (weather dependent). Children should arrive at 9am in long-sleeved tops and full length trousers/leggings with sturdy, waterproof footwear. Looking at the long range weather forecast, there is a chance of rain, so wet weather gear will be required. Please ensure that your children arrive at school in their full kit, when we get to the site, children can remove their waterproofs if necessary. Children will require a packed lunch and full water bottle (water only – this can be refilled at the site).
Should the weather be dry, I am planning on lighting a fire so that children can toast marshmallows. If you would like your child to have this tasty treat and due to COVID restrictions, please can you put some marshmallows in their lunchbox for toasting.
Children will be returned to school for pick up at 3pm.
If you have any questions please just ask.
Mrs Shakespeare (English Lead) has collated a list of texts that she would like read to the children, throughout the year. For Class 1, there are 2 lists, whilst for Class 2 there are 4.
